So, map_gx3v4_to_gx3v5.nc was edited using 
/fs/cgd/data0/yeager/POP_GRIDS/idl_tools/correct_map_errors.run
which simply deletes the above 18 links (so, conservation does
NOT hold, although the links above are near the pole and so their
deletion probably is not a significant flux error).
